This lesson will have students discover the difference between broad leaf trees (or deciduous trees) and needle trees (coniferous trees). This activity can be set up as a centre with Lessons 3, 4 and 5. Flash cards included in this lesson demonstrate six species of coniferous trees and six species of deciduous trees. All 12 species of trees are native to Manitoba.
